• 9mm Chambering: The pistol is chambered for the 9mm (9×19, 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Luger) cartridge, a cartridge proven effective for self defense, and popular for training, practice and competition.

• 5″ Barrel: The 1911 Garrison is fitted with a forged, match-grade, stainless steel barrel, ensuring the pistol is capable of producing the accuracy for which Springfield pistol are known.

• Forged Stainless Steel: The frame and slide of the pistol are constructed of forged stainless steel. The material and process ensures both frame and slide function flawlessly through many years of service.

• Extended Beavertail: The 1911 Garrison features an extended beavertail with a speed bump. This configuration encourages a high grip to better control felt recoil. The speed bump better ensures the disengagement of the grip safety when a proper grip is obtained.

• Single-stack Magazine: The pistol feeds from a single-stack 9-round magazine, one of which comes with the pistol. Additional magazines are available from Springfield.

• 3-dot Sights: The 1911 Garrison is fitted with 3-dot white sights. The low-profile black steel sights provide an effective sight picture that is easily acquired, while their shape greatly reduces the likelihood they will snag on clothing or holster when the pistol is drawn.

• Lightened Hammer and Trigger: The hammer and trigger have been lightened to reduce the pistol’s weight and further ensure a short lock time.
