The Federal Premium Terminal Ascent 7mm Backcountry 155-grain load combines a long, high-BC Terminal Ascent bullet with a Slipstream polymer tip and AccuChannel groove technology to reduce drag, initiate expansion reliably (even at lower velocities), and maximize retained weight and downrange performance. It features built for ethical big-game hunting and extended-range shots. The cartridge is offered in Federals Backcountry family using the patented Peak Alloy case to enable higher velocities from shorter barrels and compact magnum platforms; listed test-barrel velocities are approximately ~3,150 ft/s (20″ barrel) and ~3,300 ft/s (24″ barrel), producing muzzle energy in the ballpark of ~3,748 ft·lb.
