The new tungsten core ensures that the breech plug will have greater longevity under higher pressures. The original .40 cal breech plugs had a tough time holding up with the super magnum charges run through the Paramount rifles. This new design fixes that issue. This breech plug is Specifically designed for use with large rifle primers on .40 caliber Paramount muzzleloaders. The CVA Paramount VariFlame Breech Plug allows the flash-hole to remain debris-free after repeated shots with fine, loose powder propellants. You no longer need to continually clean out the flash hole after each shot.
